Our nourishing tallow balm is made with meticulous love and care from start to finish. We spent many hours researching and testing rendering methods before reaching a product we are proud of. We begin with the ultra fresh suet of Whatcom County beef cattle that have been well cared for and are grass fed and finished. Rather than "refining", we gently dry render the suet into tallow at a low temperature in order to best preserve its nourishing qualities. Then we blend it with a little unrefined jojoba oil for softness, and quality essential oils for additional skin benefits and scent. Each jar is hand-poured. The end result is a luxuriously nourishing and quickly-absorbed balm that your skin—especially your face—is sure to love.
We recommend cleansing, then applying the tallow balm while your skin is still wet to better lock in moisture. Start small--a little goes a long way.
Please note that as this is an animal byproduct and is intentionally unrefined, you may notice an earthy or "beefy" scent. It does not linger upon application. If you are concerned about this, we recommend choosing one of our scented options.

I originally bought this to use on some dry skin patches, but then I started using it around my eyes and eventually even on my whole face, because this MN winter is sucking the moisture out of my *usually* combination skin. I love that it keeps my skin hydrated all day AND doesn’t cause my skin to breakout. I don’t wear makeup, so I can’t speak to how it does under that, but I’m loving this and I’m so happy I finally tried it! I already tell anyone who listens about the tallow lip balm you make, I’ll make sure to tell everyone about this too!!!
I haven't used tallow for very long, but have to say that this is the product with the best scent, hands down! In fact, there is no beefy taste/odor at all. (I use it on my lips, hence the use of "taste".) It's too firm to use on my older skin except around my mouth and chin, but I have other facial moisturizer.
